Formula
percentage = score ÷ maximum marks × 100average = mean of the percentagestrend = slope of a straight-line fit of percentage against test order
- Each test counts equally, whatever its maximum marks
- A trend is shown from three tests onwards
Convert every test to a percentage, then average them and fit a line to see which way they are heading.
Worked example
Four mock tests
- Mock tests — one per line: name, score, maximum marks
- Mock 1, 98, 200 Mock 2, 112, 200 Mock 3, 120, 200 Mock 4, 131, 200
Average score
57.6%
Tests logged: 4
Best: Mock 4 — 65.5%
Lowest: Mock 1 — 49%
How it works
Different mock tests have different maximum marks, so the tracker converts each one to a percentage before comparing. It reports your average, your best and lowest test, the average of your latest three tests, and a trend: the slope of a straight line fitted through your percentages in the order you listed them.
The list is stored in your browser on this device only, so it is still here next time you visit and nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser data removes it, and it does not follow you to another device or browser. Put the oldest test first so that the trend shows improvement or decline in the right direction.
A trend from only a few tests is a rough guide, not a forecast: mock difficulty varies. To total a single paper use Exam Score Calculator, to plan how many correct answers a target needs use Target Score Planner, and for plain percentages see Marks Percentage Calculator.
Assumptions and limits
- Each test is weighted equally regardless of its maximum marks.
- Data is stored only in this browser (localStorage) and is lost if you clear site data.
- The trend is a straight-line fit through the order you entered, not a prediction.
